The new single Party by mi mye is that boast that people do, that hey I'm having a party do you want to come, oh I was at that gig, oh I know the person that's in that band, I knew them before they where famous. It's a song for every old school indie town, but more specifically it is a cool simple song about diy indie gigs in Wakefield, where the band has been based since songwriter Jamie moved for uni in the early 00s.

This song is Mi Mye's version of 'Daft Punk is Playing at My House', with references to The Cribs and Georgia (from The State of Georgia/The Research) and Jamie's brother and his sister-in-law Judith who were at one of those ridiculously quiet gigs that somehow everyone talks about for years after, and a party where Jamie was trying to convince Emily (mi mye) to go out with him.

The song is released by Bodys, which is run by mi mye's Emily. In early 2019 Emily decided to become a gig promoter, and was so excited about the first show that she sang this ditty 'do you want to come to my party, do you want to come to my gig', over and over in the flat she shares with Jamie (because the party was so good she did decide to go out with him). And that's how the song was born, with that line repeated at the start of each phrase.
